Exploring Santorini Island with Akrotini site Visit (duration of tour up to 4 hours)
Pick up 12:30 till 16:30 (giving them time to see the hotels they want in the morning)
You will be picked up from the CABLE CAR in Fira after disembarking the ship's tender boats and driven to a Panoramic tour of the island. First stop, the traditional village of Pyrgos, situated 8 km southeast of Fira. The village is located on a fabulous spot on top of a hill and displays incredible panoramic views of the island. The most famous church of Santorini is also found just 4 km from Pyrgos, the Monastery of Prophet Elias which is built at the highest spot of the homonym mountain. It hosts a small collection of ethnographic material and old icons.
You will then be driven you to the South part of the island where the Famous AKROTIRI Archaeological Site finally opened its doors last summer, after several years of restoration! it is a place the group should NOT MISS during their visit on the island. It is one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean. The first habitation at the site dates from the Late Neolithic times.(at least the 4th millennium B.C.).
